What's with the high oxygen and the Dsating?

Good morning. How is everyone doing today? Tonight was a little frustrating in the NICU. The boys are doing okay, but they have been on high oxygen the last few nights. I'm not sure what is happening in their little bodies, but I sure hope they get stronger, and soon. The higher the O2, the higher the risk of eye issues. I mean, if they need it, they need it, you can't function without oxygen. I think now I am just extra nervous about their eyes since that doctor scared the poop out of me. he will be calling tomorrow, and I will be handing the phone to Craig this time.

Patrick
Patrick was stable today. In the beginning he did very well with his Oxygen, but then gave them some trouble towards the end of the night. He was up and down, up and down. The resp. therapist said that they were being trouble makers tonight. No bueno as my friend would say. He was at 32% at one point, and I think at 30 when we left. Yuck. Otherwise he seemed good tonight. He did poop for the nurses in the day time. His weight tonight was 3 lbs and 4 oz. Yea! He also went up on his feeds to 28 ml I believe. We waited for the doctor to ask her all of our questions tonight, but she was talking to other parents, so we headed out. I was thinking about calling her now, but then I thought, she might tell me something I don't want to hear, then I am just going to lay here all night, and stew over something that I have no control over. We will just wait until tomorrow. he is starting to look a little yellow again. They have labs tonight, so we will see if he needs more blood. Oh yeah, and he had his primary back tonight. Yea!
Listen to my belly!

Brady
Brady was stable tonight also. His O2 was up and down too. I gave him a little bath tonight, then put him in his new clothes. We swaddled for awhile. At one point he forgot to breath while I was holding him. Again, no bueno. That is always scary, and something I will never get used to.  His nurse thinks that maybe he will be in a crib this week. His weight was 1603 grams, which is like 3 lbs and 8 ounces. He is getting so big, I can't even believe it. I don't know what I will do if I walk in and see a crib soon. He is not on heat anymore, and he is self regulating his temp. We learned that two good nurses signed up to be his primary. Love it. I like these nurses, but I still can't wait for his 1st primary to come back. She is awesome.

I'll keep you all updated on the eye exam tomorrow. Have a great day!
