I think I have mentioned that we have the best nurses ever....right?

Hidey Ho their neighbors. I am running out of ways to greet you all each day.  Perhaps I should greet you like the Truman Show. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.  Hope all is well. I hope every one's kids had a great first day at school yesterday! Okay, so I know I have mentioned that we have the best nurses ever. I know that I have, like a million times. Let's hear some more stories, shall we. Better yet a list..

1. Today while running errands, I get a text message. It's Patrick's nurse. She said that she had to stop in at the hospital to get something. While she was there, she stopped to check on him. She just wanted to say that he looked good! She is isn't even back on shift yet, and she is checking in.  Did I mention that the other day, I was talking to Patrick about his nurse, and he smiled and his heart rate went up.  He is so silly! He is such a ladies man!

2. We get to the hospital and we are scrubbing in. Craig's phone goes off. It was a text from Brady's nurse. She is on vacation for like two and a half weeks. She is sitting at the airport, and she was waiting for her plane. She just texted to check in on the boys, and she was excited to see how well they were doing. She asked for pics of Brady in his clothes, and said she couldn't believe how good Patrick was doing. She is on vacation and she checked in.

3. Patrick's second Primary nurse was on tonight, and she finally had a chance to work on him. She lets us do his stuff, and makes sure he is all clean. She likes to pick on Craig for slacking. Awesome

4. Another nurse that we really like had Brady tonight. She has taken care of both boys before and does an an awesome job. She makes sure they are super clean, and watches them really well. We like when she has the boys, because she is on them like white on rice, especially their oxygen levels. She bought the boys fleece blankets for their incubators.  Soo nice!

I really love their nurses!! I can't say enough nice things about them!

Patrick
Patrick is stable tonight. He had one little bradycardia episode which was very unlike him. It was very random, and happened right in front of the doctor. Oh boy. Otherwise he was okay on his mask. Guess what? Patrick hit the big 3 pounds!!! Woot woot! Yea little man! He was 3 lbs and 1 oz. tonight. Most of it is probably poop in his belly, but whatever, I'll celebrate if I want to, you're not the boss of me. The doctor said that he is stable and doing well. He did mention that his platelets are still low. He said this could be for a few reasons.  One being that he could have an infection still, or maybe he could have a clot somewhere. He said there could be a clot in his heart, or stomach, or elsewhere. He had the echocardiologist come down today and do an echo. He said the PDA is still there but very small, and they did not see any clots in his heart, which is very good news he said. Of course I didn't think of questions until after we left, but tomorrow I will ask them, and let you guys know.
1. Could it be in the stomach from the infection?
2. I know he said with Brady, we don't want to keep giving blood, because then his body won't produce it's own. Is it the same with the platelets maybe?  No word on the spinal tap from the Infectious disease doctor yet.
Otherwise he is doing well with his feeds. His belly looked big tonight, but healthy. He had his eye pics done today, so we will see what they say on Thursday. The doctor didn't have any info tonight as of any news with the eyes.
                                                                            "Get in my belly!!!"
                                                                                 All full of milky!
                                                                                 "I'm three pounds, whoo hoo!"

Brady
Brady is stable tonight as well. He didn't have any bradycardia episodes, but did have a few lower oxygen moments while Craig was swaddling. Once he was back in his bed, he was doing well. He is doing well on his feeds. He was a big 3 pounds 8 ounces. Okay, you might want to sit down for this part. The doctor said pretty soon he will be big enough to be in a big boy crib, and maybe go to progressive....Eeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkk!  (Insert extreme mommy guilt here! Look at Brady wearing outfits, and going in to a big boy crib, and Patrick is still naked on a CPAP. Uggh, they told us this might happen, but it doesn't make you feel any better. I do not want to leave Patrick behind. This sounds so stupid, because behind is just one room to the right, but it is going to break my heart. Deep breath, be strong, pull it together mommy.) Okay, otherwise, he is rocking his outfits, and seems to be hanging in there.
How small does he look in daddy's arms?
                                                                                 Sleepy time with my daddy
                                                                                     Mo hawk baby!

Mommy and daddy update.
Daddy is doing great. He seems to be handling all this stress quite well! Mommy is doing well too.  Got word today on my blood work. I am anemic (which explains the heart palps) big surprise there, so I can't donate blood yet. Have to just keep giving them kisses!

A big thank you to Russo! He donated platelets today! You rock!

Love you all!
Em and Craig, and the 3 pound boys!
