Today was a good day

Good evening to all! Overall we had a good night tonight. Patrick and Brady had the same nurse tonight, and it is one that we really like. She is really good with them, and she really takes the time to explain what is happening with them. She said they are having a good day today, which we love to hear.

Brady
Brady had his echo today. The nurse read the report to us and she said it came back with the word "Small" on it. She checked the last report and it said "moderate," so we are hoping that is good! They still have to have the cardiologist look at the report to double check things. So we will try to get a final answer tomorrow. Hopefully it is smaller and he can avoid surgery! This would be good because mommy would be a nuthouse if he had to have it. Tonight his vitals machine went off like 5 times. It's funny because at work the machines go off and it doesn't phase me because I know what they mean. When I hear them go off in the NICU, and it's near one of the boys, I don't look. Craig always looks, and I can tell by his face if it's good or bad. he looked tonight, and had a face, then the nurse got up too go check on him. I was getting hot as I stood there. When it goes off once or twice I am okay, but 4-5 times makes me antsy. She suctioned a little junk out of his tube, and the rate went back to normal. Deep breaths. Moving on. He did get a transfusion today. They might start feeding him tomorrow! Also he is off all of his lights, and off of his billiblanket. He was 1 lb 8 oz. She let me touch him tonight, so I was able to hold his hand for awhile. This time was better than the last, he held on for awhile, and had a good grip. He slept the whole time. I just want to hold him so bad. Is it weird that I also just want to smell them too? hahaha.
Love his little hands, I could hold them all night.
All snug, nice and tight tonight.
Patrick
Patrick is having a good day. He is back on the regular ventilator, but at a higher rate.  His O2 was about 30%. Not so bad. They actually started feeding him today! Yea! They give him 1 ml of breast milk via tube. She said earlier that she did pull back a little green type billi-something or other from his belly, but it was not the milk, so that means that he digested it. This is good. He was able to eat at 11pm tonight, so she let me feed him. I fed my baby, so excited! The doctor gave his rounds tonight while we were there and he said the heart murmur was gone! Phew! One in the clear. They also turned down his Fentanyl also tonight, so he was more active. He is also off of the billiblanket, but still has a light above him, so no personal blanket yet.
Stretching out his feet, he was wiggling his toes.
Sleeping after having a good night!

I'll let everyone know about the final echo results tomorrow. Hopefully we can get in for some more touch time tomorrow, and maybe a diaper change.  Thank you to everyone out there who keep sending good thoughts to us, and praying. It seems like it is working, so please keep doing it! I am praying that they have some guardian angels up there who are keeping an eye on them!  Love you all, you guys are the best!
Till tomorrow!
The Connors!
