Be prepared, we might need your blood.

Hello all. How is everyone doing tonight? I hope all is well. Tonight was a good night, but stressful for me. I do not like the monitors and the sassy tones that come with them. I know that they are there to alert the nurses of issues. I appreciate that, I do. I use them at work, and they don't annoy me there because I know they are doing the job that they were made to do. In the NICU setting though, me no likey. They start going off, then they are flashing yellow, then both of the boys monitors go off, then they turn red, and then it gets hot.  Then mommy gets antsy. Tonight the monitors were going off a lot, and they boys like to "talk" to each other, and start them at the same time. I am pretty sure that this is a glimpse into the future. Double trouble.

Brady
Brady is doing okay tonight. So we are clear, we still hate the CPAP. We still dislike the indents in his face, and the new indent in his forehead. We still dislike that his heart rate drops, and that the monitors flash an angry red.  It makes me all....Grrrr inside. Tonight he had a little swollen foot, and we don't know why, but it started to go down before we left. He looked a little pale tonight. His heart rate was very high tonight also, which makes his monitors angry. He might need more blood, which sometimes makes his right rate high like that. We will let everyone know.  Craig actually just called to check on some blood as I am typing. Brady's fave nurse is there tonight. She said that he took a poop, so his belly looks smaller. Also she placed a tube into his belly to help get rid of extra air that is pushed in by his CPAP. She said after that, and his poop,  his belly measured 2 inches smaller. She also said that she placed him on his belly, and now his heart rate is stabilizing and he is doing well. This kid loves his little belly. He made me a little nervous leaving him tonight, but I feel better now. His weight was 2 lb 4 oz. He is still on his formula, and loving it. He has labs at 2 am, hopefully all is well.

Taking a break from my CPAP
Patrick
Patrick is doing okay too. He is still getting his 1 ml of milk. Soon he will start on a cri like Brady if he handles it well.  His oxygen was at 24% tonight which is good. No poop tonight, but he pooped yesterday which is fine. His belly is still soft. They might switch to the same vent as Brady, but they are still deciding. He was 2 lbs 2 oz. today. I don't have a lot to say about him today which is a great thing. He seems nice and snugly, which we like.
                                                                    Love it
                                                                              Getting my food via syringe
                                                                              Sleeping soundly, thankfully.

Here is a special treat. I know that a lot of you have been looking for traits of me in the boys. As much as I would love for them to have a little bit of me in them, I have to say it's not happening.  Here is a picture of Craig when he was a baby. He tries to say that I had an affair, and that is why they don't have our blood type, but as you can see, they are alllll him!
Look at that and tell me he is not the father! Bahahahhahaha!

Have a great day all!
The Connors
