Hi there to all. Tonight I feel, was a better night than the last two. Patrick seemed better this evening than the last two nights. He was moving around a lot more than yesterday, and seemed more comfortable too. He is still on his Fentanyl at 3. His O2 was at 27%. He received a blood transfusion, but no platelets or plasma. His urine was back to a normal yellow with a tinge of brown in it. We should know by tomorrow what type of infection that he has. he is still on his antibiotics, but she will know which ones to keep him on, and which ones to change either tonight or tomorrow. His bleeding issue seems to have lessened also. So, overall a better night. i don't want to say a good night, because I don't want to jinx it. He is still on his TPN (nutrition) IV, but no breast milk for him until he gets better. His little belly is still green, but it doesn't look as bloated. His incision is still draining which is great. We felt a lot better seeing him tonight. Still worried, but felt better. I feel like he is losing his little boy look, and looking tired and little again. When he was healthier he was starting to look more boyish, but since he isn't gaining, I feel like he looks so little and sick again. Hopefully he will start to feel better now that the infection is going away. Also, the surgeon came to look at him, and thinks he may not need a second drain. We won't know about the surgery yet, we will see if his little intestine heals. We are keeping our fingers crossed.
Little Patrick
Belly looks a little better
He doesn't like his tube
Brady
Brady is doing okay at this time. We were able to do hands on again tonight, and changed his diaper, and did a temp. His cultures came back negative, which is great. He is off of his phototherapy lights, as is Patrick. They will probably stop his antibiotics, and may try starting him back on breastmilk tomorrow. He is really responding to me speaking to him, and keeping his eyes open while I talk to him. He looked quite comfortable tonight when we came in. His nurse had him on his side, and he seemed to like it.
So comfy on my side
Hi mom and dad
Just relaxing
Hopefully Patrick will have a good night! We appreciate all the prayers for him! I think they may be working!
