Hello to all! Okay I have exciting news tonight. I know that this may not be exciting for anyone out there, and also it will probably make most of you gag, but we are over the moon excited. Are you ready? Okay, on three. 1.2.
PATRICK POOPED!!!!!!!! (and the crowd goes wild!!!!!)
Okay okay, everyone calm down, pull yourselves together, geez. Why are we so excited??!! Here is why. For weeks now, we have been waiting for his intestines to do something...anything. I had asked his nurse a few nights back if maybe he had some lodged up poop in his belly, and that is why the gas was hanging out in there. She said there could be, and she was going to ask if they could do a little enema or something to help. The doctor last night put an x-ray on the orders today, which he had done. It still showed some gas in there. When we got there, we ran onto the doctor in the hallway and he said that they were probably going to do some sort of barium study. Once we got in there, after doing Brady's hands on, Craig went to work on Patrick. He said that he was changing his diaper, and he moved him to get his little back end, and he saw some poop pop out. When he put him down it went back in. He picked him up again and out it popped again. Of course, it got stuck, probably because it had been there for like a month! Craig had to assist it out, ewww, but awwwe, what a good daddy! The doctor came over to do rounds, and said "We have to come up with a plan for the barium study, since they need to take multiple x-rays, and he can't go to them, they have to come up here." Patrick's nurse and Craig said, wait we have good news! They showed him the diaper, and the doctor said "Eeewwww, I don't want to see that! I just ate!!!!" Then started laughing. Craig said, but we are so excited!!! All the nurses in rounds started laughing. So, the doctor said, okay, lets change the orders and take a follow up x-ray in the morning. If the whole intestine is more gas, and it looks better, then maybe they can start some Pedialyte. Little Patrick may have saved himself a barium study. He also said that he looked at the head ultrasound. He said he wasn't that impressed with it, meaning. He said he could see the spots that they were talking about, and they are very small. He said to not be so worried just yet. We will recheck the MRI before he leaves, and do a follow up scan in a few weeks. Could things be turning around for our little man? I pray that it is. I never once thought that I would be praying to god, and thanking him for a poop nugget. People are going to pray tonight and ask for money, happiness, or love. I am going to pray for more poop. I have no shame in saying it either. Please lord, bless our family with poop, bring on the shit storm. He was 2lb 2 oz tonight. They are lowering his vent settings. He is still off of the Fentanyl.
Love this little tushy.
I just pooped!
Brady
Whats happening with Brady? BRADY POOPED!!!!!! Hahaha. I know, I know he has already done this. It was my night to change his diaper though, and it was loaded! I mean it was on the blankets, on his back, on his legs, and on his toe toes! I opened it up, and my husband started to laugh, then gag, then walked away to tend to Patrick. Little did he know what Patrick had in store too. Haha, sucker! After we changed his blankets, his diaper, and then washed him down from back to toes, he looked good. His weight was still 2 lbs 4 oz. He is still getting his 6.3 ml feeds. They were going to lower his vent settings tomorrow if they felt good about his gasses. His nurse brushed his little hair after flipping his to his belly. You know the story after that. Belly=good night of sleep.
I love this little tushy too!
Still rocking the hawk hair.
Alright, I am actually going to get to sleep early tonight! Let's all cross our fingers for a good x-ray tomorrow. If if turns out well, lets cross our fingers for some food, and for it to digest! I know it's a lot of fingers crossed, but he needs a good thing in his life so bad!!
Love you all!
Em and Craig, and the poop twins!
