The green monster belly

Morning all. How is everyone doing? We are a bit tired today. Craig's brother in law came over to help us out with some work around the house.  It was much appreciated. Unfortunately, it makes Einstein go crazy, so I didn't get any sleep. We didn't get to sleep until about 330am, and I was up at about 630am. We did manage a little cat nap before heading off to the NICU. While we were scrubbing in tonight, we ran into the doctor. he stopped and said hello and told us about the boys.
Patrick
He said from his chest up, and his legs down he looks great. He has good perfusion. His blood gases came back and looked good. He is nice and pink. His O2 was at 25%, and she was going to wean him. She just had it up while she did his hands on. He had his head cath. out, and it looked like he had been lotioned up a little. His hair was brushed and he looked like he had a little spa day. His chest x-ray came back, and it looked better than yesterday, so at least that is good. His belly x-ray showed gas inside, but no free air. His belly also measured 1 cm bigger than yesterday. The doctor said they are going to continue to watch it, and continue with x-rays. The surgeon didn't actually stop by today. They said if they were truly worried and were very nervous than they can call in the surgeon right away, but they are not at that point. This is frustrating to us because he was starting to look better, and now the belly swelling is back. The drain is still in, but nothing is really coming out. He has not eaten anything in about a week, so really there shouldn't be anything in there. They said there can still be some junk hanging around. I am praying that he doesn't need another drain, or that the surgery will not be needed. If he could just pull through this, we would feel so much better. He just needs a little break. He did look  comfortable tonight though. He did not beat up any nurses, so that is great. He is our little toughie! he stayed at 1 lb 8 oz.
I am sooooo big!!! I like my new blankets!
Look at that belly..it breaks my heart.
He loves his hands in the air.

Brady
Brady is doing well, knock on wood. He is getting milk every 3 hours, and if all goes well with his belly, he will be back on the feeding cri tomorrow. Lets keep our fingers crossed. His O2 was at 24% tonight, and his nurse said he was remaining stable. His feeding tube was through his nose instead of his mouth. That looked slightly uncomfortable, but he seemed fine with it. he was on his belly, and sleeping well.
Cozy in my new blankets from mom and dad.
                                                                          Hi everyone!
Tucked in tight for the night.
Once we get an update from the surgeon we will spread the word. Good night everyone, Hopefully we are going to get a good nights sleep tonight.
Love to all
Em and Craig
