"The Goal is 36 weeks."

Gooood Morning Bloggers! How are you today. Coffee is good? I hope breakfast was as well. So today, the boys are 36 weeks old. 36 weeks was the goal of my pregnancy. It quickly turned to 32 weeks, then 28, but the boys had their own plans. The goal was always 36 though, with a C-section planned, and lots of drugs for mommy. I always told Craig, that if I ever got pregnant, I basically wanted to be like a slip and slide. Numb me up, lube me up, I push, and away the baby goes down the "Crocodile Mile."  About half of you out there are asking someone what a "Crocodile Mile" is. The other half (that are my age) are nodding their heads, cause you know, you know. Anyway, the boys decided that they wanted to be summer babies, instead of Halloween babies. I guess it's okay, because we already had a few October birthdays. We are pretty convinced that they came out because something was wrong. I mean, obviously something was wrong, but we think that Patrick was not getting enough blood flow, and needed to get out. To get out though, he had to let Brady know the plan. There is a very good chance that Patrick would not have made it, so it is a good thing that they came out early. I never really thought I would say that. It's never good when they come out early, but in this case it was. Instead of us going to 36 weeks with healthy boys, we made it to 24 weeks, with two micro preemies, who are the biggest fighters I know! I can't wait to have those little nuggets home, and believe me, it is coming faster and faster.

Patrick
Our little Patrick is really coming along this week. I am praying that his little body finally had that "AHA" moment!  He looked healthy again today. He did well with his hands on tonight. He did well off of his mask too, so there was talk of a cannula tonight before we left.  We got a text message from his nurse saying that she was allowed to try it for a few hours to see how he did. His temp has also been very good for a few days, so she took off his incubator top. Thank the lucky stars because that incubator is annoying.  They have been so busy with admits, that there are no cribs available. He will be in this incubator for awhile probably. He feeds went up to 32ml. He still dsats afterwards, but seems to come around after. He weighed 1754 grams tonight. He was very alert tonight, and was looking all around. His little eyes were red though from his exam yesterday.

                                                                                Yea it's Friday!

                                                                                    Hi Mom!

Brady
Brady was so mad tonight! He wanted his bottle and he wanted it now! Once he had it, he did very well, and he drank all of it. Let me add, that during feeding his gets burped, and he burps like a man! Whew, they are some good ones.  His nurse had to give him a glycerin deposit to make him poop tonight, and oh boy did he go. He weighed a big 2000 grams tonight, but it probably went down after his monster poop. He is up to 36 ml of food. He is off of his nasal cannula and just on room air. He gets bottles every other feed, and every other goes down his feeding tube. He decided tonight that he didn't want his tube, so he pulled it out of his own nose. Awesome.

                                                                                        Please, no more pictures...

I will let you know how the nasal cannula on Patrick goes tomorrow!

Have a great day!
Em, Craig, and the boys
