Hello to all out there in bloggerland! Well, tonight's story is all about Milk. Can you believe milk is all I have to talk about tonight? When we were scrubbing in tonight, one of the doctors walked by, asked us how we were doing. We said good, and you? He said good, and went into his room. Craig said to him, "I like when you have nothing to say to us!" He said "Hey, if I have nothing to say, that means things are well." I agree
Brady
Uh oh, Brady is first tonight. Brady is good, but he has decided that "Nippling" is hard work, and he is tired! I don't know why, but every time I write, or say "Nippling," I feel like a perv, haha. I don't know why, I am silly like that. Anyway. I know I have said it before, but they said that bottle feeding is very hard. It is a lot of work for them to suck, swallow, and breath. Haha, again, it sounds so dirty, I almost feel awkward writing it, lol. So, they get tired very quickly, and can loose weight even. They won't feed for more than 30 minutes. They start at one bottle a day, then go up from there. He did very well the first three days, and finished his bottles. Then they moved him to twice daily. He was finishing his bottle at night, but not during the day. That's okay. Then he went to three a day. That's where it all stopped. I guess he didn't finish his bottle last night after we left, and didn't finish it this morning either. Tonight, he started with 35 ml, and finished 15 ml of it. He falls asleep on and off during it, so you have to wake him up.Well, tonight, every time I put the bottle in his mouth, his oxygen would drop to like 79. WTF Brady? Even after he burped a few times, it still kept happening. Hmm, not sure what that is about, but moral of the story is, he had to have the rest down the tube. It then came up twice through the tube. His nurse tonight, his second primary (he now has three, and they all rock) said she thinks he is getting acid reflux like little Patrick. Sometimes they dsat after their food when they have reflux. He might have to go on Zantac too. Otherwise, he just slept and snuggled tonight. He was 4.2 pounds.
Raise the roof!
I give up, I can't drink anymore!
Patrick
Okay. Everyone stop, take a minute to find some wood, and knock on it like crazy. This means you Megan B, even if you are in class! Patrick, had no problems tonight. Whhhhaatttt! I know! Yea little man! Patrick was on like 26% oxygen. He didn't dsat at all. He took his food like a champ, and even did well while Craig held him. He was 3.8 pounds. His nurse texted us last night at like 4 am. She was excited because his platelets went up to 60! So it's only 20 more, but that is 20 more that he didn't have yesterday. I'll take that with a smile on my face! What does this mean. I have no idea. I am hoping that it means that maybe the IVIG worked and it's helping. We actually didn't get a chance to talk to the doctor because he was helping a new baby. We will find out tomorrow what this all means. Again, if he has nothing to tell us, I am happy. Also, Patrick has three primaries now also. He also has a day primary. We are blessed. They are all awesome! They now have bets on who is going home first.
Thanks for dinner dad!
I grew platelets!
Snuggle time
Alright everyone, here is the deal. I am going to try to blog tomorrow when we get home. In case I don't get a chance, I will do it during the day, I promise. I told the eye doctor that we would come in to meet him, so we can go over all the eye stuff, just in case they need it. This means that we have to be at the hospital way early. Well, it's not early for all of you, but it is for these night owls. I might come home from the hospital and try to go to sleep tomorrow. I will try and blog though. If I can't, expect one in the afternoon. I will have more to talk about after the doctor anyway.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Love Em, Craig and the "Got Milk" twins
