Monkey motorcycles and diaper cake
Lots of food, and more in the other room!
Dr. Suess table for their book collection
Craig's co-worker, Kim, made this cake..amazingI took a lot of pics, but I won't bore you with them. We arrived at the hospital at about 11:30 We stayed til about 2 am. Patrick had his primary nurse back. He did well with his bottle but it took him awhile. He also d sated a lot after it. She had to take over feeding for awhile. She thought it might have been because he had to poop, and he did this morning, and tonight. Brady took a while to finish his bottle. He took about 10 for Craig, then Patrick's primary gave him the rest. He was quiet last night, just hanging out. We got home at about 3 am after picking up our dog. Got to bed at about 5am. The plan was, do nothing today. Get some sleep, and check out our gifts. We woke up to a screaming dog, who was shivering in pain, and looked like he was terrfied of us. WTF? So much for our sleeping in. We figure out that his shoulder is swollen, and he starts to scream when we touch it. Ugh..get out of bed, get dressed, and head to work with him. We take x-rays, and nothing is hurt, just soft tissue damage. We get some pain meds, and we head home. That's what I need, all of my children in a hospital. Oh the joys of mommyhood. We head back home, and he sleeps all day from sedation. He slept so coma like, that when Craig took the blanket off of him to move him, he noticed that the couch was all wet. Apparently he peed his fuzzypants while he was sleeping, and didn't even know it...all..over..my..couch. Sigh...I love my life, I love my life. So, our relaxing day went by in a not so relaxing day. Here is the news tonight
Patrick
Patrick did well tonight. he has become wuite the little snugglebunny. When we first started kangaroo care, he really didn't like it. We used to put him back after 5 minutes or so becuase he would dsat and get stressed out easily. This week has been very different. He cries, but then stops when you pick him up. I did not start that behavior! He seems to love being held though, and it seems to help his spo2 also. Tonight he took his whole bottle for me. It was 34 ml I think. Sorry, my brain in fried at this time. He weighed 4.5 ounces. I noticed that his little hair is growing back on his head! Yea Patrick! The doctors keep saying that he needs to go to progressive. They are giving him two days to get his act together with his oxygen, then they are moving him. There is always a chance that his lungs may not be developed enough to get off oxygen, and that he could go home with it. We would have tanks and monitors at home to watch him. Hopefully we won't have to, but it could happen. He still has some time though to develop. It is "Bloody Monday" today. They pull blood everty Sunday night, so they call it bloody monday because they get blood results back in the am. Hopefully his platelets are still up!
Look how little he is
Love my daddy
Just had my dinner
Brady
Brady was doing well tonight too. He took all of his bottle in like 10 minutes. Craig spent most of the night with him, as I had Patrick tonight. We switch everynight. I am not sure how much he weighed tonight. I would ask Craig but he is sleeping on the couch right now. When I went to go see him, he was sleeping, so I didn't wake him. They say he could go home in about a week and a half.
I stick my tongue out at you
Never wake a sleeping baby
And for extra entertainment...Brady in a swing
I think that is about it from the NICU tonight. No news is good news, and the doctors didn't have much to tell us, which we love. We will get some results tonight hopefully. For now, I must go to bed. I have one week to catch up on sleep, because I am pretty sure I will never get a full nights sleep again after that. I will miss it so much.
It's 2 am and I am signing out...
Love to all!
Em, Craig, and the boys
