One comes home to an obnoxious dog, one stays behind to get spoiled by the nurses.

Why hello there to all! For those of you who have not heard the news yet, I have a surprise! Brady came home today! Whoo hoo! Why has it taken me until 12 am to blog? I will tell you. Craig and I have spending the 5 hours trying to control our Jack Russell. He's not doing so well with the new arrival. Don't get me wrong, he is not being "bad." He is just so overly excited that he won't leave Brady alone. He keeps trying to sniff him, and jump in his bassinet. He has been whining for hours! When he can't get to Brady he cries, then he barks. We are at our wits end already with him. I tried to close the bedroom door to change him, and he scratched the hell out of. He is being so bad. He is so exhausted, that between barking, he is falling asleep sitting up. He just won't settle down.  He is driving us nucking futs! He does this high pitched whining that makes me want to snap my shit on a good day. They said the first night might be rough. It has been, but not because of Brady. He is being an angel. Okay, so lets begin our day. We went to go visit early today. We got there around 4pm so that we could feed Patrick. We saw Brady first, and they went over all of his discharge instructions with us. We got the beginning of our follow appointments, but there is still more to come. So far we have a pediatrician, a rehab, and a developmental check up. We are still waiting on our eye, cardiologist, and pulmonolgist appointments. We will get them this week. They gave us a copy of his footprints from the day he was born. We got a goodie bag full of formula, and all the things that he has used while he was there. They gave us his thermometer, his measuring tape, and his bed card showing all of his vitals when he first arrived. We gathered up all of his blankets and outfits, and then signed him out. We got some last minute pictures of him and the day nurses too.

After we went over all of his discharge instructions and meds, we headed off to see Little Patrick.
He was doing well today. His nurse said that his oxygen had been at about 28-29% all day. She said he dsats once in awhile still, but he recovers from it. She saved his bottle for us to do while we were there. Craig held him for a little bit, then I fed him. He took his whole bottle, and he really didn't dsat at all. He did very well. We took a lot of pictures because he wasn't making a cranky face today.
He was so snugly, we didn't want to wake him.
                                                                                 My temp was good today!
                                                                                 I love being held now!
While we were holding him, Brady's nurse wheeled him over to come say goodbye to him.
                                                                                      I love my boys
I love all of my boys

After they wheeled him back, we gave Patrick his bottle. He took it like a super champ.
                                                                                       Yea Patrick!
Me feeding Patrick, not crying that we are leaving him behind. I handled it well, but there were a little tears, I won't lie.

After we fed little man, I held him for awhile. He loves to be held now, so if I don't have to give him up, I don't, haha. Then I sadly put him back because I wanted to get Brady home in the daylight. I wanted to make sure he didn't turn blue while driving home. We packed up his stuff, and a nurse walked us out to the front of the hospital. All the nurses were sad to see him go.  Craig pulls the car up, and says my low pressure light went off. Of course it did. That is the Connor Curse folks. Why would a 40 minute drive with a micro preemie go well? I was already nervous, and this did not help. We pulled over and he checked all the tires. He filled them up just in case, then off we went.
                                                                                    My first car ride!
We made it home with no issues. That is until we met the dog. Right now, the dog is crying and panting in my lap. I am typing with one arm around his head because he won't leave me alone. He wants to get in the bassinet and I am holding him back. Again, he is lucky I love him, because I am 2 whines away from losing it.  Once we arrived, we changed his diaper and his little outfit. It seems someone had the poop scared out of him on his ride home. We gave him his first bottle, and he did well. He ate 60 mls. Then about 15 minutes later, he was fussy. he ate another 20mls. About 45 minutes later he was fussy again. I changed his diaper again, because he pooped a whopper! Then I see him sucking his thumb. Awe how cute. Then I see him trying to eat his hand and his shirt. Are you hungry again. Another 10 mls down, and I see his eyes start to close.
                                                                               My first bottle!
That dog won't leave me alone
I burp him one last time, and I sit him down with me. I picked out a story to read and we get started. Tonight's story is "The Hungry Caterpillar."
He falls asleep and I gently put him to bed. He actually fell asleep, and has been doing well. Craig just woke him up for his bottle now, and he is eating well. I have tried three times to get the whine of my dog on here, because I feel if you hear it, you will know why I want to scream, but my camera won't get it. Normally, I ask you all to pray for the boys. Tonight, pray for the dog...

Have a great night everyone!
The Connors
