Good morning to all. Well, last night was not a good night for anyone! Let me just say, I swear it is true when they say twins know what the other one is feeling. We walked into the NICU tonight, and Patrick's nurse said that he was so fussy last night! I said Brady was up all night too! Also, Brady never poops, but has been going every day this week. Patrick's all of a sudden is going everyday too. Totally weird. It's like sympathy pains or something. Anyway, last night started with a 3 am feeding for Brady, which is normal for him. What is not normal for him, is him not going to sleep afterwards. Normally he eats, we change his diaper, and off to bed we go. Not last night. He would not go to sleep. We watched tv until about 4:30 am, rocking him back and forth, and doing the usual things to get him to fall sleep. I tried putting him in the swing to see if that would help, and I had about 10 minutes of luck. I decided he was out, so I picked him up and headed for bed. Dumb move. He was up as soon as I laid him down. He started fussing, so I picked him up. I guess he just wasn't ready yet. I rocked him for a bit more, and tried again. Nope, no luck. It's now 6:00 am. I get up and get some Gripe water for him. He starts to calm down, and we try to lay him down. Nope. It's now 6:45am. Craig goes to get the miracle boppy. Sweet 5 minutes of sleep...aaand he's up. WTF Brady? He must not feel well. He is probably gassy. Wait, it's been about 4 hours, maybe he is hungry. Yes, he is. He starts eating, it's now daylight at 7:30 am. He is starting to settle. Grandma wakes up and takes over, we got to sleep. Sweet, sweet grandma. He ends up gassing it up, and pooping, then falling off to dreamland. I tell ya what, this kid not pooping makes him a beast. Today he was a good boy all day. he stayed up for awhile this morning though. Let's hope he sleeps tonight. After all that, he slept today like normal, and was in a good mood. We even snapped a pic of him smiling.
Getting my toes tickled!
Yum, I like dinner!
Patrick
We took a ton of pictures of little Patrick today. He is having a good day today, but is miserable. Let's see, where to start...oh yeah, guess who is in Progressive? I called today and spoke to his nurse. She said guess who got orders for the big P? The big P? What is that I asked. She whispered progressive. Really?! This is exciting, but not. He is considered progressive now, not acute extension, which is great! That being said, he is staying in the same place, so he isn't really moving to progressive, because he is already there. Whatever, it's one step closer to home. Tonight, and pretty much all day, he has been on room air, which is 21% oxygen. He seems to be handling it well. He is down to 1.5 liters of oxygen, and seems to be moving down quickly. At one point, his nurse disconnected his O2 because she was untangling his cords. He had no oxygen coming to him and he was "sating" at 100% for about ten minutes. That is an awesome test. He took all of his bottle but 10 ml. They gavaged the rest. They had to gavage some of his other bottles today also, but for the most part he is taking them. They think he is not eating as well because he is in pain from his rash. His rash looked a little better today, but still bright red. I feel so bad for him. He won't stop pooping, so it won't heal from all the moisture, and rubbing. He is still getting oxygen to his butt via a face mask. I still find this amusing, but there are like 4 kids getting that treatment right now. I guess it just keeps it really dry, so it helps a lot. He had to get a bath tonight, because after we changed his diaper and put medicine on him, he pooped like a mad man. We had to change his little outfit and everything. Poor little guy. Besides that, he is doing well. He seems to be on an upswing this week, which makes us very nervous. you know his history, you know how it works. One week of greatness, and three weeks of nonsense. Let's hope he is growing up.
Hanging out with my dad.

Falling asleep with a full belly
Alright everyone, I am off to bed. Brady has his first rehab appointment tomorrow, I actually am looking forward to it. I'm interested to see what we are going to do for exercises on him.
Have a great day everybody!
Em, Craig, and the fussy boys.
